Death Clock

I've added a widget to the side bar of the blog which I have called Death Clock. People spend a lot of time commuting to and from work, and those hours add up very quickly. You can plug in your own estimates and see how many hours of free time you have in a week, and how many of those are spent commuting.

For the full death clock experience, my favourite is here.

I commute an hour each way, 2 hours total per day. Most of the time it's by bike, and other times by transit.

So when I'm riding my bike, I don't feel like I'm wasting time. And when I take transit, I catch up on reading.

Sometimes I wouldn't mind a shorter commute, but at least I spend it doing what I really enjoy.

Vic, I have actually thought about moving farther from work to force myself to ride more. I see where you are coming from.

I thought the calculator was fun though...

Yeah... At least when you're living closer to work you get the CHOICE of a long or short commute. You can take the long way home for a nice ride, or be home really fast if you need to be, or if the weather sucks.

How do I convince my company to relocate from Mississauga to Toronto?? :)
